July 20 – 21, 2018: Historic downtown VeniceA�brings backA�Christmas in July. While basically a sales promotion they will have Santa and Mrs. Claus on hand and participating stores will offer entry forms for a competition to win prizes donated by various member merchants including 4 gifts baskets totaling $1,000. There will also be big sales with over 50 downtown stores and sponsors participating. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free Christmas Trolley rides throughout downtown from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m..
 
July 21, 2018: Take the kids to Selby’s Splashin Saturdays during July and have fun with water activities, water slides and games in the cool shade and around the lagoon and waterfall of the Children’s Rain Forest Garden. July 21, 2018: Celebrate Star Wars night at LECOM Park as the Bradenton Marauders take on the Daytona. Marauders players will wear Star Wars themed jerseys which will be auctioned off for charity during the game. The jerseys will be available for auction online and inside the park during the game where the jerseys are worn. Winning bidders will be allowed onto the field post game to receive the jersey from the player or coach who wore it. July 27, 2018: Enjoy an evening on the bay front and some free live music at the 17th annual summer music fest, “Friday Fest”, at the Van Wezel with Reverend Barry & the Funk featuring 3 GrammyA�-nominated musicians, this 8-piece band plays a high-energy set of originals and covers of funk & soul music including Earth, Wind & Fire, Commodores, Kool & the Gang, and Prince. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, take in the music along with the beautiful Sarasota sunset and enjoy food and beverage from local vendors. Outside food and drink is prohibited. July 31 – August 4, 2018: The Sarasota Slam is taking place with Billfish, Wahoo, Tuna, Grouper, Snapper, Trout, Redfish, Offshore and Inshore Divisions. More info and sign up here. August 3, 2018:A�The Lakewood Ranch sponsored Music on Main Street free monthly street party is from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. There will be beer, wine and food sales. Bring your chairs, but leave coolers at home. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short leash. Overflow parking is available at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. Lakewood Ranch is off University Parkway east of I-75.
 
August 4, 2018: To put a little fun in the dog days of a Sarasota summer it’s the AquaPalooza 2018, an on the water party for boaters with music and fun in the sun, free give-aways and more. The fest takes place at New Pass Sandbar, just in front of the MarineMax Marina, 1601 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, FL. The fest is being called “the largest party on the water” by organizers.
