April 20, 2018: Sarasota County and the City of Sarasota are co-hosting an Earth Day Celebration. The family-friendly event will feature music, food for purchase, prizes, a tiny home to tour and information on how individuals can help the planet. The Five Points event will show visitors how to live and work more sustainability, including cutting energy use, exploring nature, carpooling, buying/growing local foods, composting, and more. Visitors can explore a tiny home, view electric vehicles on site, learn about the global Earth Day 2018 theme of ending plastic pollution, and enter a City raffle that will award trees and sustainability-related prizes. April 21, 2018: It’s time to Celebrate World Circus Day with all day free admission to the Circus Museum at the Ringling. See the world’s largest miniature circus while you’re there along with John Ringling’s Club Cars and explore the history of the circus from ancient times till now. It’s amazing. April 28 – 29, 2018: It’s the always popular 40th annual Siesta Fiesta which takes place in Siesta Key Village from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. It’s sort of a farewell party for all of our a�?snowbirda�? friends from the colder climates of the northern U.S, Canada and afar, who come to be with us in Sarasota throughout the winter season. May 5, 2018: Bring your pail, shovel, sunglasses and creativity to Siesta Key Public Beach on for the Annual Siesta Key Sand Sculpture Contest. The contest, traditionally held the first Saturday of May, is held near the Pavilion on the beautiful white sandy Siesta Public Beach. Free and open to all ages of participation, the Siesta Sand Sculpture Contest also awards five cash prizes and is one of our very popular happenings for both locals and visitors on our Escape to Sarasota Calendar of Events. May 5, 2018: It’s the 21st year for Corvettes on the Circle taking place on St. Armanda��s Circle. Running from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. this show will feature present day models back to the classics of 1953. Over 200 pristine & original Class Corvettes will be on display in the Circle Park. Trophies will be awarded to the top three Corvettes in each generational class as well as Best in Show. Awards ceremony at 3 p.m. It’s free
May 10 – 12, 2018: The 9th annual Harvey Milk Festival features a variety of music, art, theatre and film events over three days. More on the fest. Downtown Sarasota at Five Points Park and various other venues. Admission is free to Five Points Park music festival events on Saturday.

May 13, 2018: How often do you get to treat your mom to something special?
